The current trend in health and safety practices
Even though the field of occupational hygiene and safety is constantly improving, researchers could reasonably assume how one of the most substantial changes has indeed been driven forward by COVID-19. Every enterprise has been driven by the virus to re-evaluate how the firm could safeguard its workers from emerging challenges. Additionally, it has made it difficult to maintain up with the emerging legislation and practice guidelines. The hierarchy of controls for the rising Covid pandemic had evaluated. (Appendix 2) Some of the current practices followed by the organization to safeguard their employees during involvement in work are as follows:
● Virtual safety training:
Employees
are more frequently adopting digital learning to provide a more secure and
structured development for accomplishing their training. Virtual training
raining programs could be collaborative learning or conscience, based on the
content. The workers could gain other benefits such as reducing the risk of
dispersing diseases, could be able to save the time and money spent on
traveling to the workplace, and could access to any place with an internet
connection. Ex: the whole world creates a virtual workplace for their workers.
● Policies for the public
careers in the workplace:
Due
to the risk of a covid pandemic, the common areas in the firm are altered with
new policies. These places survived with the rules like maintaining the safety
guidelines, keeping the window open every time, setting the furniture for
social distancing, and using different outdoor places.
● Usage of PPE(Personal
Protective Equipment):
PPE
ensures that the workers considerably in the outdoor working environment are
working at low risk. This equipment includes gloves, masks, and other
protective things that safeguard the workers. These types of equipment reduce
contact with each worker and ensure social distancing.
● Mental health safety:
Firms
are now more aware of their obligation to protect their workers' mental
well-being and offer a positive working environment. The pandemic's emotional
stress, notably for frontline medical professionals, emphasized the importance
of managing mental hazards. Almost everyone will incur costs if the importance
of professional psychological health is neglected.
